Born in 1974 in Tehran, Iran, Laleh Khorramian lives and works in upstate New York. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, received her undergraduate degree from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and her MFA at Columbia University in New York. Khorramian has exhibited internationally, including shows at Mass MoCA, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Art Basel Statements, Ballroom Marfa in Texas, the Istanbul Museum of Art and Queensland Art Gallery in Australia.

Khorramian approaches her work as a series of experiments with the process of chance as a starting point for discovering possibilities of the unknown, whose details and outcomes she then investigates and repositions. Animation, digital media and sampled audio supplement use of collages, mono-types and drawing. The mono-types act as the starting point for filmic works. In a vacillating process between macro and micro, views of painted landscapes and incidental spaces, Khorramian integrates fiction with spectacle and theater constructions to explore discarded and chance outcomes as a creative strategy to consider transience of living matter and beings, and their cycles of depletion and plenitude.

In 2013, she published her limited edition artist book, Include Amplified Toilet Water.
